4 Thursday, June 2, 1994 Petal JOURNAL Features Weddings Engagements Karen Lynn Tolbert and Rodney Darrold "Rod" Meyers, both of Centerville, Utah, were married the morning of April 9, 1994 in the Latter-Day Saints Temple in Atlanta, Ga. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. James E. Tolbert Jr.

of Petal and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney D. Meyers Sr. of Springfield, Ore.

Bridesmaids were Amy Tolbert, Julie Tolbert, Jill Tolbert and Marci Tolbert, all of Petal, sisters of the bride. Groomsmen were Jimbo Tolbert and Grant Tolbert, brothers of the bride, both of Petal. A reception was held in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hattiesburg. Reynolds-Jordan Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Britton Sr. and W.E. Reynolds III, all of Waynesboro, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Leigh Reynolds of Laurel, to Derek Randall Jordan of Petal, son of Dores Jordan of Petal and Mrs. Margaret Perry of New Augusta. Wedding vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m.

June 25 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the ceremony and the reception to follow at the church. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H.

and Ella Mae Allen of Petal. He is a 1987 graduate of Petal High School and attended JCJC. He is a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard, Gulfport. Susan Elizabeth Simms and Rodney Thomas Ralph, both of Erwin, N.C., were married the afternoon of May 21, 1994, at Petal Presbyterian Church. Parents of the couple are Mr.

and Mrs. Randy Simms of Petal and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. Ralph of Erwin.

The Rev. Ken Ribelin officiated at the ceremony. Music was presented by Cathy Winters, organist, and Dr. Gene Winters, vocalist. Matron of honor was Karen Weaver of Hattiesburg, aunt of the bride.

Maid of honor was Jane Graham of Baton Rouge, cousin of the bride. Bride's proxy was Vicki Her-rington of Hattiesburg. Flower girls were Victoria Ralph, niece of the groom, and Marlee McCool. Mr. Ralph served his son as best man.

and Mrs. Denton Chance of Petal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 5, in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church of Petal. The reception will be hosted by their daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Don Pouncey of Hattiesburg, Joy and Tom Moore of Pensacola, and Paula Chance of Atlanta. They have four granddaughters and two grandsons.
